On November 5, Manson High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) attended the North Central Region FBLA Fall Leadership Conference at Wenatchee Valley College. Students were inspired by a keynote speaker who challenged them to elevate their leadership and think like future business professionals.
Throughout the day, members attended a variety of workshops ranging from “How to Build Your Professional Network” to “Parliamentary Procedure.” These experiences helped students strengthen their skills and prepare for upcoming competitions.
Our FBLA members are now hard at work getting ready for the FBLA Winter Leadership Competition on January 31 at Eastmont High School.

GEAR UP has had a busy and exciting fall!
Our students have been hard at work (and having fun) exploring their futures through a variety of activities — from field trips to career and college fairs, a campus tour of WSU, and Kids in the Creek, to our Friday Learning Lounge sessions.
The GEAR UP team has also been supporting seniors in Mrs. Koth’s Career Choices class as they take big steps toward their goals — applying to colleges, trade, and technical programs, and learning about financial aid options to help make their post-graduation dreams a reality.
We’re proud of the effort and enthusiasm our students have shown this fall!

Día de los Muertos | Day of the Dead | Nov. 1-2, 2025
Tomorrow, we honor Día de los Muertos, a Mexican tradition that celebrates the lives and memories of loved ones who have passed away.
Manson students learned about the history, art, and cultural significance of the holiday this week, and concluded their studies by enjoying delicious Pan de Muerto.
¡Feliz Día de los Muertos!

First graders had a blast investigating pumpkins yesterday!
Even though their pumpkins were the same size, they were surprised to discover that one had about 580 seeds, while the other had only 310. After some research, they learned that pollination plays a big role in how many seeds a pumpkin produces.
It was a messy, hands-on, and super fun day of learning in first grade!

Rain? No problem! Our Outdoor Club braved a chilly Friday to tackle the four-mile Elephant Head Trail recently, and spirits were high the whole way. Afterward, they warmed up with a well-earned lunch at Local Myth Pizza.
Fun fact: our foreign exchange student from Italy gave Local Myth an 8.5/10 — high praise from a true pizza expert! 🍕 🇮🇹

Yesterday, Mrs. Phelps’ fifth-grade class enjoyed a walking field trip to Chelan Valley Farms. Students explored the beauty of the season while discovering how agriculture shapes our community. From pumpkins and grapes to sheep, soil, and plant cycles, students learned firsthand about natural resources, ecosystems, and the important role farmers play in our lives.
Hands-on learning brought science and social studies lessons to life, inspiring curiosity and real-world connections.
Students also learned about farming safety and what motivates local farmers to do what they love.
Thank you, Chelan Valley Farms, for welcoming us, sharing your knowledge, and showing how our community works together to grow and thrive.
What a wonderful day of learning, teamwork, and appreciation for the beauty of fall in the Chelan Valley! 🍁

Students working with Mrs. Helleson are learning about the 7 Habits as part of our Leader in Me program. Our middle school students worked together on a puzzle activity to reinforce Habit 2: Begin With the End in End in Mind. This habit teaches students to start with a clear vision of their goals and make intentional choices to get there. Learning to “begin with the end in mind” helps middle schoolers see how their daily actions—both in and out of the classroom—shape who they are becoming. It encourages them to think ahead, stay focused, and take ownership of their future success.

The Manson Middle School 8th-Grade Leadership class finished a project this week where they made leadership-focused children’s books. The highlight was reading their books to Mrs. Beazley’s Kindergarten students.
The books taught important lessons on perseverance and friendship. It is so great to watch our 8th graders embrace their leadership roles! 💙
