42 Manson Elementary students had perfect attendance so far this school year. They all were celebrated at our winter assembly and received a certificate and a $10 gift card to our local businesses.

Created by Jack and Gale Courtney, the Manson G3 Program empowers Manson High School ASB officers to improve their schools by “Giving Great Grants.” With funding from the Courtney Family in the amount of $10,000, students award grants that enhance learning and experiences across the elementary, middle, and high schools.

Teachers, students, and administrators submit applications for projects that enrich classrooms, arts, facilities, and special activities. After reviewing proposals and conducting site visits, students decide how to allocate the funds, creating meaningful improvements that benefit the entire district.

⭐ Mac Richmond received the 2024 Recruit of the Year award (from a year-behind recognition), and

Manson’s First Book Club Book Exchange!

We had our first unofficial Book Club meeting with a fun cookie and book exchange to make sure everyone had a fresh read for break.

Our first official meeting will be Monday, January 5th at lunch in Mrs. Lovelace's classroom. We’ll be electing officers and choosing our first book. New members are welcome!

Not interested in reading the group book? No problem! We’ll also be sharing books we love, making small crafts, and enjoying themed snacks together.

During our Shark Tank business presentations, students were challenged to create a business idea they felt would meet a real need in our community. After weeks of research, planning, and fine-tuning, they presented their ideas to a panel of judges who selected the winning teams.

1st Place: Ryder Stevens & Carson Miller
$25 Amazon gift cards
• Lotus & Lasso Restaurant — a Thai & American fusion concept

2nd Place: Lexie Segura & Alvin Trejo
$20 Amazon gift cards
• Lakeside Playtopia — an entertainment center featuring laser tag, indoor rock climbing, trampolines, and more

3rd Place: Alex Sanchez & Elijah Torres
$15 Amazon gift cards
• Cookie Lab — a specialty cookie shop similar to Crumbl

All five teams did an excellent job, and every student received $10 “Chamber Bucks” gift certificates, generously donated by the Chelan Chamber of Commerce.

It was a great day showcasing creativity, problem-solving, and presentation skills.

Three board members took the oath of office at last night's school board meeting. The board welcomed new District 4 Director-at-Large Krysta Westmoreland, along with re-elected members Greg Neff and Amanda Zuluaga. Mrs. Westmoreland replaces outgoing director Susie Metzger, and also assumed her role as legislative rep for the board. Mr. Neff was elected board chair, and Mrs. Zuluaga will serve as vice chair. Manson fifth graders became engineers, using playdough, wires, and batteries to create circuits that light up - just like the electrical pathways in our hearts - while spending the day with CVCH resident physicians recently.

Hour of AI Success!
On December 8, 2025, the AI and Robotics Clubs hosted an exciting Hour of AI! Manson High School students teamed up with elementary students to explore the world of artificial intelligence.

Using activities from Code.org and SchoolAI, students discovered how generative AI can create music, drawings, and even rap songs — including some sweet tracks about Manson Elementary School.

Our young learners practiced writing effective prompts and got a glimpse of how AI can shape their futures. Most importantly, everyone had a great time learning, creating, and imagining what’s possible.

Manson alum Ryan Gildersleeve (Class of 2021) has been making waves in radio broadcasting while attending CWU and working with the campus station KCWU – The “Burg.” He and his classmates have helped put CWU radio on the map in a big way! 🎙️

Ryan was recently named a finalist for multiple Intercollegiate Broadcast System Awards (IBSA) and will be flying to New York for the award announcements. His nominations include:
* Best Play-By-Play: Football
* Best Play-By-Play: Basketball
* Best Interview
* And KCWU “The Burg” is a finalist for Best Small University Radio Station

In addition to these honors, he recently broadcast live on ESPN!
