Yesterday, Mrs. Phelps’ fifth-grade class enjoyed a walking field trip to Chelan Valley Farms. Students explored the beauty of the season while discovering how agriculture shapes our community. From pumpkins and grapes to sheep, soil, and plant cycles, students learned firsthand about natural resources, ecosystems, and the important role farmers play in our lives.

Hands-on learning brought science and social studies lessons to life, inspiring curiosity and real-world connections.
Students also learned about farming safety and what motivates local farmers to do what they love.
Thank you, Chelan Valley Farms, for welcoming us, sharing your knowledge, and showing how our community works together to grow and thrive.

Students working with Mrs. Helleson are learning about the 7 Habits as part of our Leader in Me program. Our middle school students worked together on a puzzle activity to reinforce Habit 2: Begin With the End in End in Mind. This habit teaches students to start with a clear vision of their goals and make intentional choices to get there. Learning to “begin with the end in mind” helps middle schoolers see how their daily actions—both in and out of the classroom—shape who they are becoming. It encourages them to think ahead, stay focused, and take ownership of their future success.

Alumni Update!

MHS Teacher and Coach Sarah Wiggum recently shared an update on 2025 Manson graduate Camille Hutton, who is "dominating the rowing life at the University of Washington. She performed well on her pre-season fitness tests and is out on the water claiming her spot on her new team."

The Manson Middle School 8th-Grade Leadership class finished a project this week where they made leadership-focused children’s books. The highlight was reading their books to Mrs. Beazley’s Kindergarten students.

The books taught important lessons on perseverance and friendship. It is so great to watch our 8th graders embrace their leadership roles! 💙

Five Manson Middle School student leaders were invited to visit Chelan Middle School to observe and participate in their Career & College Fair, hosted by Chelan GearUp. Students explored a variety of career and college pathways through interactive sessions with local professionals representing fields such as photography, electrical work, nursing, EMS, art, barbering, and firefighting, among others. Students left inspired about their futures while also getting excited about planning our very own career exploration event here in Manson. Huge thanks to Chelan GearUp and Middle School for their hospitality and hosting such a fabulous event!

Thank You to Colville 12 Tribes for Supporting Outdoor Education Manson Middle School extends our deepest gratitude to Colville 12 Tribes for their generous donation of $3,500 in support of our 6th grade Outdoor Education program. Their contribution helps ensure that every 6th grader has the opportunity to participate in this meaningful hands-on learning experience. With the state not funding outdoor education this year, our district is working hard to secure grants and community partnerships to cover the nearly $28,000 cost of sending 56 students, chaperones, and camp counselors to camp. The generous support of partners like Colville 12 Tribes makes it possible for us to continue offering this powerful learning experience that builds teamwork, leadership, and a deeper connection to the natural world. Thank you, Colville 12 Tribes, for investing in our students and helping make lifelong memories possible!

The Outdoor Club ventured up to Fourth of July Mountain on one of their Fridays off. If you're interested in joining the club, they'll be hosting a meeting this Wednesday in Ms. Sorenson's room during lunch.

The club is planning another great adventure this Friday. New members are encouraged to join and stop by the meeting on Wednesday to vote on the Friday trip. It's outdoor education and experiential learning at its finest!

Our 3rd–5th grade students are participating in Washington State’s Let’s Go Bicycle Education Program!

This statewide program—offered through the Educational Service Districts in partnership with the Cascade Bicycle Club—teaches students bike safety, traffic awareness, and riding skills in a fun, hands-on way. Each participating school receives bikes, helmets, and a complete curriculum that helps students build confidence and safe habits both on and off the road.

The program supports Washington’s goal of helping all students in grades 3–8 learn safe and active transportation skills. What an exciting and empowering experience for our students!

Unity Day 2025 at Manson Middle & High School was a huge success yesterday! 🧡

Thanks to our 33 incredible Manson Hope Squaders, students came together to celebrate kindness, inclusion, and hope.

Lunch activities included a rubber duck hunt, ping pong hoop challenge, bracelet making, and an interactive “Notes of Hope” poster.

During Strong Time, Hope Squad leaders guided powerful conversations about bullying prevention and shared tools and resources for how to stand up and support one another.

What an amazing day filled with learning, laughter, and connection. Let’s keep spreading kindness, Manson! 💙🛟

After middle school students had a chance to visit the Thrive Teen Center in Manson last week, they were lined up at the door Friday morning before opening at noon. This student completed an amazing project that he gave as a gift. 🎉 The Manson Teen Center is OPEN every Friday from 12–4pm for all Manson 6th–12th graders! 📍 Manson Methodist Church – 28 Boetzke Road Come grab lunch, hang with friends, play games, get some homework help, or make something awesome in the maker’s space — all for FREE! 🙌 🚌 Need a ride? 140 Manson Middle School students took a walking field trip to the Manson Thrive Teen Center during PE this week.

Students had a blast exploring all the amazing activities and resources — from the "snack shack" and clothing boutique to foosball, ping pong, and the maker's space...there is truly something for every teen to enjoy!

The Teen Center is open every Friday from 12–4 pm for lunch, games, connection, and fun—ALL FREE for Manson teens, Grades 6-12.

Need a ride? A Manson school bus can take your teen to the Learning Lounge (9 am-12 pm) at Manson Middle School to work on homework and then from the school to the Teen Center (12–4 pm) for all the fun. BONUS: Thrive’s shuttle can even transport your teen home afterward.

We are so thankful for our partnership with @thrivechelanvalley as they offer so many vital wraparound resources to our Manson youth.
