After months of practice, both the 7th and 8th grade bands performed at the regional band festival in Brewster working with judges Calvin Gorman (Omak) and internationally published composer Jonathan McBride. Under the direction of Manson's Matt Brown, both groups earned the highest rating of Superior Plus!
A big thanks to Alicia Pulsifer and Brewster Schools for helping host as Manson's gym was being remodeled.

Great news! Our gym floor repairs are complete, and it’s looking better than ever with a fresh new logo and finish. 🏀✨
To keep it in top condition, we’re asking all students to wear indoor-only gym shoes on the floor. Please remember to bring appropriate shoes for PE and sports.

3rd grade students from Manson Elementary have been recognized in the 2026 Art Link contest. Jose Valdovinos earned 2nd place and 1st place went to Johann Guijosa-Pastor and Emily Lane. Their artwork will be displayed inside Link buses and at Pybus Market.
✨ During Strong Time Advisory, four incredible seniors (Amelia, Jerry, Maria, & Luis) provided some powerful career mentoring to our 8th graders! Seniors shared their career pathways, post-high school plans, resumes, and personal accomplishments, helping make the High School & Beyond planning process feel real, relevant, and achievable. 🎓 Our Seniors were poised, reflective, and inspiring. Middle school Knowledge Bowl season is such an exciting time for our students! Knowledge Bowl brings together curious minds who love to learn, think critically, and collaborate under pressure. Students dive into topics ranging from math and science to literature, history, and current events—strengthening not only their academic knowledge but also their teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. It is inspiring to watch our students represent our school with confidence, perseverance, and sportsmanship as they compete and grow together. We are so proud of their dedication and the enthusiasm they bring to celebrating learning in action! And a huge thank you to coach, Erik Helleson!!
Meet Kato!! Chelan County's narcotic detection dog. He worked hard today, ensuring that Manson schools remains a safe and secure learning environment.
Maintaining a safe and secure school environment is essential to student well-being and learning, and the random presence of a drug detection dog on campus can serve as a proactive, preventative measure that reinforces our commitment to a healthy, focused school community. When implemented thoughtfully and paired with clear communication, prevention education, and student support systems, this approach emphasizes deterrence and safety rather than punishment. Random visits help reduce the likelihood of substances being brought to campus, protect students from peer pressure and potential harm, and strengthen confidence among families and staff that the school is taking reasonable, responsible steps to prioritize student safety while keeping the primary focus on teaching, learning, and positive school culture.

A HUGE congratulations to the these students who have earned high school elective/foreign language credit and are on their way to earning a Seal of Biliteracy upon high school graduation.
Students in 8th grade have had the opportunity to take an elective class led by Ann Marie Wisdom called STAMP. In class, students engage in learning tasks that strengthen their Spanish skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
In February 2026, these students took an assessment in Spanish called Avant STAMP. STAMP stands for Standards Based Measurement of Proficiency and can be used to show competency towards high school foreign language credit as well as to earn the Seal of Biliteracy. The Seal of Biliteracy is established to recognize public high school graduates who have attained a high level of proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in one or more world languages in addition to English.
Students earn a Seal of Biliteracy on their high school diploma when they score a level 4 on the STAMP test and earn their high school English credits.

Mrs. V's first grade class celebrated 100 days of school yesterday! Students had so much fun participating in engaging activities all centered around the number 100!

Our 6th graders are gearing up for an exciting opportunity for outdoor learning in the North Cascades May 26-28 led by our 6th grade team, Ann Wisdom and Brittany Serafini. We are so appreciative of all donations which help reduce the cost to students. We are still looking to raise $2,000 (to eliminate any cost to students). On Friday, March 6, our middle school staff engaged in a meaningful and energizing professional development day. We began the morning with a Habits of the Mind leadership activity, continuing our intentional focus on building leadership across our middle school community. This month, we centered on Habit Three: "Put First Things First," reflecting on how effective leaders prioritize what matters most. Anita Johanson thoughtfully designed and facilitated an engaging activity that challenged us to consider how we allocate our time and energy—both in our daily responsibilities and in our long-term goals. The conversation was reflective, practical, and inspiring, reinforcing our shared commitment to leading with purpose and focus in service of our students and one another.
