Every day in the classroom moves Manson students closer to their goals. Research shows that regular attendance is one of the strongest predictors of success and graduation; even missing two days a month can make it harder to stay on track, especially in middle and high school.
Attending school at least 90% of the time has a major impact. Students who show up consistently earn better grades, build stronger relationships, and are more likely to graduate. We want every student to experience these benefits and fully engage in the programs and opportunities our schools offer.
We also know that illness and family challenges happen. When they do, we’re here to work with families to remove barriers and support students so they feel welcomed, valued, and ready to learn.
To build momentum, Communities in Schools site director Oscar Herrera launched a friendly grade-level attendance competition. In November, the Class of 2029 narrowly beat the Class of 2028 to earn top honors and a pizza party—adding excitement and motivation to show up each day.
A Call to Action for Our Community
Let’s continue making attendance a shared priority. Families can help by maintaining routines, scheduling appointments outside school hours, and reaching out when challenges arise. Staff will continue to create engaging, relationship-centered classrooms. And to our students—keep showing up and investing in your future. Every day counts.
Together, we can help every Manson student stay connected, on track, and ready for what comes next.
