Manson Elementary is proud to introduce this year’s Habit Helpers—a team of fourth and fifth-grade student leaders dedicated to modeling positive behaviors and helping shape our school culture.
In their very first meeting, the Habit Helpers took ownership by creating their own set of norms for the year: be adaptable under any circumstance, don’t brag—be humble, be a self-starter, and be kind. They also identified daily leadership roles such as picking up trash, cleaning lunchroom tables, returning items where they belong, holding doors open for others, pushing in chairs, and following directions the first time. These expectations weren’t handed down by adults—our students themselves created and committed to them, showing true ownership and leadership.
Beyond these daily jobs, Habit Helpers will also be leading the charge in bringing our new Leader in Me program to life at Manson Elementary. Their work will serve as an example of how student voice, responsibility, and initiative can positively impact the entire school community.
If you see a Habit Helper around the building, make sure to say hello and ask them about their work. They are excited to share their ideas and model what it means to be a leader at Manson Elementary!
