Students in Ms. Sorenson’s CWU Math 101 class (Real World Math) got to meet with several community members this past month. Chris Cullison, a CPA and tax expert, came in to talk about a career in accounting. She also taught students how to do their taxes. Community leaders Nigel Hunter, Scott Hutchinson, and Lauro Rodriguez came in to do a finance panel. Scott Hutchinson spoke about investing in the stock market and real estate. Lauro Rodriguez spoke about starting his own business and his path to get there. Deputy Hunter spoke about buying a house and preparing for retirement. Deputy David Flick helped students learn how to properly interact with the police in the event that they get pulled over. Thank you to all of the volunteers!
