FFA Fair Report
Manson FFA competes at the Chelan County Fair and brings home many awards
Twelve members of the Manson FFA took their livestock projects to compete at the Chelan County Fair held Sept 10-13 in Cashmere.
Competing in the swine division was Cody Fitzpatrick, Bryanna Harris, Payton Stevens, Paige Schoenwald, Katie Gosvener, Bryce LaMar, and Gunner Rasmussen. Competing in the goat division was Raven Pope. Competing in the horse division was Raeauna Mogan. And in the Rabbit division was Henry Armstrong.
On Thursday was market and conformation class in the goat division Raven Pope received a blue ribbon. Henry received a grand champion for his breed of rabbit and a blue ribbon for fitting and showing.
In the swine division for market and receiving blue ribbons where Bryanna Harris, Paige Schoenwald, and Katie Gosvener with a callback. Receiving red ribbons were Payton Stevens, Cody Fitzpatrick, Bryce LaMar, and Gunner Rasmussen.
In the FFA still life barn Cole Cochran and Bryanna Harris entered in their photography which all earned blue 1st place ribbons and Bryanna Harris got grand champion out of all of the photos. Blake Cochran and Cody Fitzpatrick both entered their works into the agriculture mechanics where they got first place ribbons and Blake Cochran got grand champion for hid gold sluice box.
On Friday was showmanship day for all classes of animals. Manson FFA did an excellent job on fitting and showing their animals. In the swine barn all swine kids received blue first place ribbons. In the goat barn Rave Pope received a blue ribbon.
In barn Decorations Manson received 3rd in the horse barn and the goat barn which were made by the Harris family, Raeauna Mogan, and Henry Armstrong. Manson also received a 1st place for barn herdsmanship in the goat and horse barns, and 2nd in the swine and bunny barns.
In the CDE competitions Manson placed 1st in poultry judging with Paige Schoenwald placing 1st for individual and Cole Cochran in 2nd, Blake Cochran in 3rd, Katie Gosvener in 4th, Bryce LaMar in 5th, Parker Schoenwald in 6th, Cody Fitzpatrick in 8th, Payton Stevens in 9th and Caleb Jentzer in 10th out of the 4 FFA teams. Manson also placed 7th in horse judging, along with a 5th in produce judging giving us 3rd place overall in the sweepstakes.
The Manson FFA would like to thank all that helped them this year to be successful at fair from the Manson School district, the community of Manson, livestock buyers, chaperones, parents, staff at Manson high school, to the community members who provided meals for the students at fair and a big thanks to all who helped with the making and putting up of the barn decorations!!! Thanks So You much for all of your support and we hope to see you at the fair again next year!!!
