Manson FFA Attends Fair

Manson FFA recently attended the Chelan County Fair to show their Livestock and still life projects that they have been working on since last May. The members attending where Alyssa La Mar, Kayla Gosvener, Abbie Reed, Sadie Batchelor,  Cody Amsden, Cody Krumm, Ben Charlton ,Payton Stevens, and Ethan Schoenwald. On Thursday in Market class all members received blue ribbons for their swine projects. In the still life Exhibit Cody Krumm received both Grand Champion and Reserved Champion for his spray paintings; Cody Amsden received reserve grand champion for his eggs.  On Friday in fitting and showing students were judged on how well they fit and show their animals, again Manson came away with all blue ribbons doing an excellent job with their animals. In career development events (CDE) Manson placed 4th in poultry, with Alyssa LaMar placing 4th overall. In produce judging Kayla Gosvener was tied for 2nd overall missing out on 1st place by just 2 points with Cody Krumm coming in 4th followed  by Cody Amsden in 8th and Alyssa LaMar in 9th and Blake Cochran in 9th, that put the team 1st overall. In the sweepstakes division, which is how the schools do overall in all in all the Judging contest Manson came home with a 3rd place banner. The barn decorations this year where created by the students with Alyssa LaMar heading them up and bringing home a 2nd place ribbon. In the barn herdsmanship contest the students are judged on how well they keep their barn area clean and interact with the public during the fair, Manson came home again with a 1st place ribbon.  Manson FFA would like to thank all the parents, past FFA members, and community members for their support at the Chelan County Fair and are looking forward to next year.
