Manson Students Attend Leadership Conference

Manson Students Attend Regional Leadership Conference

On Wednesday, March 9, 24 student leaders from Manson Elementary and Middle School  traveled to Bridgeport High School for the Middle Level Regional Leadership conference, sponsored by the Association of Washington School Principals (AWSP).

In attendance were: Jesus Aguilar, Damian Castro, Trinity Edwards, Kate England, Nancy Frayle, Teresa Garcia, Gerardo Guerrero, Lissett Hernandez, Valerie Hunt, Jenny Juarez, May Juarez, Nate Katzer, Mackenzie Marble, Pandora Pena, Ava Reed, Devan Regan, Angel Romero, Dawson Smith, Connor Strange, Mario Tejada, Marvin Valdez, Natalie Sotelo-Solorio, and Bryanna Harris.  All 5th grade students who attended are currently serving as elementary peer mentors and/or mediators.  Both middle school students who attended are current ASB officers.

A total of 167 student leaders from North Central Washington attended the conference on Wednesday.  All were inspired to become agents of change in their schools.  Students were encouraged to consider their leadership role in closing the gap, changing the culture and ensuring student safety at Manson Elementary and Middle Schools.  We participated in fun, hands-on teambuilding activities throughout the day and left the conference energized with new ideas and come back and implement here.
