Assessment puzzle
  • Students in Washington State are required to take the Smarter Balanced Assessment in grades 3-8 and in high school in the areas of English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. Students in grades 5, 8, and 11 will take the WCAS (Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science) based on the Next Generation Science Standards.

Manson Schools also uses data from the district assessment STAR 360 in the areas of Reading, Math, and Spanish literacy. Using assessment data gives teachers a snapshot in time of student achievement so that intentional teaching and learning may occur. Data allows teachers to form intervention and extention groups to focus on critical skills for grade/content level proficiency.
