High School Fine Arts Department
Art & Photography
At Manson High School, we believe the arts are an integral part of a complete education. While exploring the visual arts, students learn:
- To look at the world in new and valuable ways
- Problem-solving skills and creativity essential in today's society
- The value of history and other cultures
Manson High School offers art and photography classes. Art class instruction includes painting, sculpture, ceramics and art history. Students receive both group and individualized instruction. They also have the opportunity to work on public art pieces in the community.
High school photography students learn the basics of photography, including darkroom work and digital photo manipulation. Students need their own camera and must pay a $35 materials fee. Click here to see our student photography gallery.
Both art and photography students participate in the North Central Regional Art Show and the annual Manson Apple Blossom Art Show, as well as other competitions. Manson students perform well at these events, often winning regional and state recognition.
There are several options available for music students at Manson High School.
High School Band is offered on a daily basis. The band performs at school concerts, sporting events and regional competitions. They also march in both the Wenatchee and Manson Apple Blossom parades.
Jazz Band is a zero hour class. Students have the opportunity to learn jazz, explore new instruments and perform at school and community events.
