Hi! My name is Brandy Samson. I was born and raised in Chelan. Becoming a teacher has been something I have wanted ever since the 1st grade. I was first inspired and interested in this profession when my 1st grade teacher read aloud the book Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. For weeks after being read that story I would try to gather my peers and "read" them stories during free time. My love for reading and teaching has only grown more and more each day.
I graduated from Chelan High School and then moved to Honolulu, Hawaii to earn my Elementary Education degree. After earning a teaching degree from UH, I moved back to the Chelan valley to pursue my career. Beginning in 2012 I began teaching Kindergarten in Manson and did so for 7 years. In 2014 I earned a Master’s degree in English Language Development from Concordia University. I am also a National Board certified teacher. I am currently the Reading Specialist and am so eager to work with students this year to further their reading ability. Reading is not only one of my favorite hobbies but a subject I get really excited to teach. I love watching students learn and I espeically love to see the growth students make. I couldn’t think of a better place to teach or a better career to wake up for each morning. I am so incredibly lucky to be teaching in Manson and I feel honored to teach these children.
Some of my favorite things are reading, baking, being outdoors and spending time with family.
I am excited for another great year and all of the monumental learning that happens at Manson Elementary!
