Manson School Board Selects 2012

Blue and White Excellence Award Winners

The Manson School District Board of Directors selected the 2012 Blue and White Excellence Awards winners at its March board meeting.  With over 56 nominations submitted from staff, students and community members, the board had their work cut out for them.  Those that were chosen to receive the honor this year are:  Manson Secondary Teacher Matt Brown, Manson Elementary Teacher Marcella Lindert and Manson Elementary School Librarian, Heidi Griffith

Marcella Lindert: A 4th grade student said, “She’s a great teacher in Manson Schools.  She teaches in really fun ways.  Teaches great art.  She is the best teacher ever made!!!”

Matt Brown:  A band student shared “I have been under the direction of Matt Brown for 7 years now.  His contributions to our music program have resulted in the creation of our “Superior” achieving bands and choirs you see today.  His dedication, attention to detail, and passion for teaching is why I believe he deserves this honor.”

Heidi Griffith: As stated by a co-worker, “Heidi always finds the best way to motivate the kids to read. She always finds the right book or website not just for the kids but also for the staff.  The library always looks great!”

The Honorees will be recognized by the North Central Educational Service District on Wednesday, April 11 at Campbell’s Resort in Chelan at its Annual Chelan County Excellence Banquet beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The Manson School District Board of Directors will celebrate their selection as the 2012 Blue and White Excellence Award winners at its regularly scheduled board meeting on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 7:00p.m.
