Communication Folders
In order to share school information with each family weekly, we send home a COMMUNICATION FOLDER with your child each Tuesday. We ask that you set up a DAILY check of the communication folder so that you know you are getting all the information the school and your child's teacher are sending. Also, we ask that you sign the folder each week, so we can be sure that you've received the information.

Reading at Home Goals
One of the most important ways you can help your child be successful in school is to participate in our "Reading at Home" program. We know that the more children read, the better they become at reading! We ask families to set aside time every day for reading. We encourage you to vary how the reading is done:

-Someone reads to the child
-The child reads aloud to a listener
-Partner with the child and take turns reading
-Child reads silently

It's important that the reading be at the child's level so it's enjoyable and fun. You can help your child track his/her time on the school bookmark or his/her planner. At the end of each month, students who meet their goals are recognized. A year-end celebration is held for all students who meet their monthly goals for six or more months.

The Read at Home goal times for students each month are: Kinder & 1st for 10 minutes, 2nd - 4th for 20 minutes, 5th - 6th for 30 minutes.
