FFA Awards and Recognition Banquet May 28, 2010 Manson FFA Awards and Recognition Banquet By Heidi Neal 5.20.10     Photos by Heidi Neal Advisor, Kevin Amsden presents senior, Isaac Ewing with 2010 Manson VO-AG Senior Award.   Manson FFA Members, family and community members gathered to celebrate the accomplishments that the FFA members achieved this year and enjoy the annual FFA Banquet complete with advisor, Kevin Amsden’s famous BBQ hamburgers and fixings that was served by members on Thursday, May 20th with member, Jordan Pittman giving the innovational before the dinner was served. Ginger Ewing also baked and decorated two special cakes for the celebration. Due to District Fastpitch playoffs in Kittitas, FFA members; Veronica Vanderholm, Mindy Neal, Hailey Ellsworth, and Sierra Miller were unable to attend the celebration and were greatly missed.   2009-10 Manson FFA Members: Veronica Vanderlholm, Taylor Quigley, Schuyler Neff, John Jones Jr., Guess Jones, Stellan Giffin, Issac Ewing, Nathan Coggins, Abby Bridgewater, Marcus Vanderholm, Ty Harding, Yesenia Escoto, Jordan Pitman, Fernando Loza, Devon Griffith, Willie Jones, Austin Cochran, Hailey Ellsworth, Mindy Neal, Adriana Guzman, Casey Sorenson, Bailey Stevens, Francisco Garcia, Blake Callison, Paul Toolson, Jesse Russell, Curtis McClellan, Donnie Webb, Travis Pittman, Fransico Marron, Rocio Mora, Enereo Gomez, Sierra Miller, Fernando Loza, and Cheyanne McFadden.   This was another outstanding year for the Manson FFA program and members largely due to the countless hours advisor, Kevin Amsden along with his wife, Mary and son Cody dedicate to the program and the members year round.   After dinner, the awards portion of the program was hosted by FFA Officers; President, Issac Ewing, Vice President, Jordan Pittman, Secretary, Nathan Coggins, and Treasure, Schuyler Neff, see Awards below. A power point of the activities the members were involved in that was produced by Guess Jones was also shown.   Senior and FFA Chapter, President Issac Ewing was awarded by Amden the Vo-Ag Senior Award and was also honored for receiving the DeKalb Award.   At the end of the awards the 2010 FFA Officers were announced: President, Jordan Pittman, Vice President, Devin Griffith, Secretary, Nathan Coggins, Treasure, Curtis McClellan, Sentinel, Ty Harding, Reporter, Bailey Stevens, and Photographer, Hailey Ellsworth.   . Awards and Recognition     Greenhands: Green Hands are 1st year members in the FFA, they can be freshmen through seniors. The following received their Greenhand certificate and pin for their FFA jacket: Sierra Miller, Paul Toolson, Jessie Russell, Curtis McClellan, Donnie Web, Travis Pittman, Fransico Ramon, Enereo Gomez, and Chad McFadden.   Star Greenhand: Jessie Russell was selected by advisor, Kevin Amsden and Chapter Officers as the most outstanding and active 1st year member.   Community Special Member Award was presented to Dick Cochran who has been involved with the Manson FFA program for over 29 years.   Manson Kiwanis Outstanding FFA Member Awards: The Manson Kiwanis’ FFA awards were presented by Kiwanis’ Member, Dick Cochran to Manson FFA Member, Guess Jones for Apple Judging and to Fernando Loza for Shop Contest.     Appreciation Awards: The Appreciation Awards are for those who have helped and supported the Manson FFA members throughout this past year: Brad Barns, Daryl and Paulette Bridgewater, Matt and Shelly Charlton, Marty and Lorrie Cochran, Donna Coggins, Duane Coggins, Mike and Diana Ellsworth, Earl and Heidi Griffith, Jim and Kristen Harding, Karoline Martin, Brad and Heidi Neal, Greg and Sue Neff, Todd and Rosanna Pittman, Joe and Lori Quigley, Brad Soliday, and Craig and Annette Stevens.   Honorary Chapter Farmer Awards: Awarded to Isidro and Guillermina Escoto, Tim and Ginger Ewing, and Don and Tina Vanderholm.   Special Awards for 09-10 Officers: President, Isacc Ewing Vice President, Jordan Pittman Secretary, Nathan Coggins Treasure, Schuyler Neff Sentinel, Veronica Vanderholm   Proficiency Awards: Proficiency Awards are awards given to students who excel in agricultural experiences areas.
