Steve Byquist reports:
After meetings last week, Chelan County will be working with the Manson School District to attempt to attract federal dollars for a walkway from school campus to downtown Manson.
A federal grant called "The Safe Route to School" will be applied for by Chelan County for the Manson District.
If successful the County hopes to use the grant for the surface improvements to attract other money to improve storm water drainage and street surface improvements.
Figures to address storm water issues in the Manson core area run as high as 5 million dollars.
