American Legion Post 108 presented Manson Secondary School with a United States Flag as well as a Prisoner of War (POW) flag
On Friday, February 8, 2010, The American Legion Post 108 presented Manson Secondary School with a United States Flag as well as a Prisoner of War (POW) flag to be flown proudly outside of the school building. In their presentation, Clyde McCullough, American Legion 108, Commander, said “it is a great privilege and pleasure to have the honor of presenting this beautiful symbol of our country, the flag of the United States of America, to the Manson High School Associates Student Body.”
Regarding the POW Flag, Commander McCullough also expressed that “the POW flag is a physical symbol of the thousands of Americans POW/MIA’s still unaccounted for from all the wars and conflicts involving the United States of America.”
Present at this ceremony outside the school building were Don Vanderholm, Principal, Mr. Vergara, ASB Advisor along with ASB officers Alejandra Mendivil, President; Bronte Toolson, Vice-President; Monica Sanchez, Secretary; Marcus Vanderholm, Treasurer; Amanda Buck, Historian.
The Manson Secondary School ASB thanks the American Legion Post 108 and their representatives, Clyde McCullough and Ed Holst, Adjutant, for their honorable donation of our country’s symbols and the promise to treat them with the utmost respect and further, to fly them with honor and pride.
