Entiat 74, Kittitas 51

Oroville 48, Manson 33

Bridgeport 57, Waterville 54

Soap Lake 69, Liberty Bell 36

Coach Crollard reports:

It was one of our more disappointing games of the year. With it being senior night I think the nerves got to our players a bit. We couldn’t make any of our shots, which we usually make. Jordan Pittman had a very good game for the Trojans scoring 10 points and collecting 13 rebounds. You can’t win them all and I think this will send a message to our kids that just because you are ranked in state doesn’t mean that you don’t have to show up and work hard to get the job done. The good news is that we have our last league game @ Bridgeport Tuesday the 16th, which will give us a great chance to get back to the style and level that we’ve been at all year long.

In NCW 2B League boys action, fourth-place Oroville (9-3 league) shocked Manson 48-33, knocking the Trojans (10-3 league) out of a first-place tie with Entiat (11-2 league). The Tigers can clinch the league title with a win over Waterville Saturday.

“It was the worst game of the season for us,” Manson coach Jeremy Crollard said. “We just couldn’t hit a shot. I think the senior night nerves got to my kids, and they tried to do a little bit too much.”

Coach Hill reports:

Oh boy what a game this was!

Our girls absolutely played their hearts out tonight! Even though we didn't come away with a win on senior night the girls have nothing hang their heads about especially our two seniors who left it all out on the floor tonight.

Every single one of our girls will be able to look at themselves in the mirror and be proud to say "I gave it everything I had." Its tough knowing that 2 or 3 of us may never play on that floor in a meaningful game again, but at least we can all be proud of our performances one last time in that gym! I can't emphasize enough how proud I am of these girls once again.

Our two seniors: Yessenia Escoto and Veronica Vanderholm had great games tonight. Escoto came up with 7 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists and a whopping 8 steals. Vanderholm scored a team high 8 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and got 2 steals. Between the two of them they were 5-6 from the free throw line, helping our team shoot a season high 69%.

Our junior: Hailey Ellsworth was once again our floor general scoring 6 points, grabbing 6 rebounds, dishing out 5 assists and stealing the ball 3 times.

Our sophomores: Cheyanne McFadden, Sierra Miller, Angelica Suarez and Ofelia Rodriguez all showed up to play big minutes tonight. Miller had 5 points and 5 rebounds. Suarez had 2 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Rodriguez had 2 points and 4 rebounds. McFadden didn't show up in the stat sheet, but when she went into the game I was worried about mismatches; I was wrong because Cheyanne held her own against every single one of their much taller players. We challenged Cheyanne to be more physical tonight and she was absolutely doing exactly what we asked of her.

The Lady Trojans travel to Bridgeport on Tuesday, Feb. 16th.
