"Bad" Norm Manly and Principal, Mr. Vanderholm
Manson community member and volunteer, Norm Manly demonstrated to the MansonHigh School senior students how not to show up and conduct a proper job interview. Manly was interviewed by Principal, Don Vanderholm in preparation for the student's upcoming Mock Interviews that will be held in February.
Manly recruits local business leaders to come in and perform Mock Job Interviews with the senior students. The students learn the skills required to accomplish a productive and successful job interview.
Manly showed up late for the scheduled interview with Mr. Vanderholm, he was not dressed appropriately, did not have his resume packet instead had his application wadded up in his shorts pocket, had his music head phones on and kept listing to his tunes in between questions, received a cell call during the interview and put Mr. Vanderholm on hold while he made party plans. Manly was not prepared at all for the interview and knew very little of about the job he was applying for. Needless to say, Manly will surely not get the job. Vanderholm did an amazing job interviewing Manly.
The students were expecting Manly to show up dressed in a business suit and demonstrate the proper way to conduct a job interview. Ivan Cortes said, “We were so shocked when Mr. Manly showed up dressed like he was. We were really not expecting this type of a demonstration.”
Also in attendance to lend advice to the students were the senior advisors, Mr. Amsden and Mrs. Koth, Manson Gear Up Sire Director Patti Stracener, Superintendant, Matt Charlton and school board member, Jama England.
