Manson FFA Director, Kevin Amsden files report…
“In the Hog market class out of the 15 FFA students we had 8 in the finals with Nathan Coggins winning the Grand Champion Market Hog that sold for 3.75 a lb. Mindy Neal was awarded on Saturday, prior to the hog sale, the FFA Supreme Showman Swine Division Grand Champion along with a trophy and $25.00 check that was sponsored by Chelan Heights Orchards. Her hog sold for $2.00 per pound.
Each of the 18 Manson FFA members did a fantastic job on raising their entries and showed great pride and respect while they were at fair. They all represented Manson in a very outstanding manner and I am extremely proud of each and every member.
Thank you to all the parents who volunteered to load and haul the FFA member’s livestock to fair, parents, community members and my wife, Mary who supplied the evening meals and chaperoned the FFA members at fair and Secondary librarian, Mrs. Martin for organizing and creating all the barn decorations.
Special thanks go also to the Manson School District, Chelan County Fair and chairpersons for another awesome fair, the judges, the countless fair volunteers and to all the generous businesses and community members who purchased the FFA member’s livestock. Participating in the fair each year would not be possible with out all of your support to the Manson FFA. I look forward to many more fine Manson High School students joining our FFA program and raising their own entry next spring and summer for the Chelan County Fair in 2010.”
