1B- H.S. Art: All paintings due Dec. 5th. When done start on 3D work.

2A - Weights/Conditioning: Come to class with gym clothes, ready to workout.

4A- Photography: Advanced Assignment-"Solitude" Shoot a roll of film on your interpretation of "Solitude" 

 Beginning assignment - "Doorways"

Doorways and doors can be really interesting subjects for photographs. They can invite the viewer into the photo. They can represent a path way, or passing into a new stage of life or personal growth. Shoot one roll of film of doors or doorways. Pay attention to what is on the other side of the door. See example below.   Develop , and print on 8 X 10. Ready for critique on _ 12/1

2D Art and Design Portfolio Project

Your portfolio of designs will prepare you for a large canvas painting that you’ll do later. Using groups of four  4” x 6” cards stock, create designs that show your understanding of the following elements of art:

Page one:  Art Elements- Line

1.    peaceful (using horizontal lines)

2.    strength (using vertical lines)

3.    dynamic tension( using diagonal lines)

4.    movement (using curving lines)

Media- collage for all four

Page two: Art elements- Shape and Value

1.    organic/ light value

2.    organic/ dark value

3.    geometric/ low contrast

4.    geometric/ high contrast

Media- 1&2 – charcoal, 3- pencil, 4- cut paper

Page three: Art Elements- Color and Symbols

1.    monochromatic/ personal symbol

2.    complementary/ personal symbol

3.    warm colors/personal symbol
